Whether its on a little fabric covered box like this or on a chandelier ya gotta luv bling!
it makes a little jewlery pouch special…
or jazzes up a little perfume tester tray…
and pretty ribbons add feminine bling!
you can never have too much bling!

When I opened the Little Paris shop I did not have time to finish some of the details the way that i wanted…
One of the details that i left undone was to get a bedskirt for the queen bed in the Paris Boudoir….it ended up on the back burner because Christmas was coming and there were just so many other things to do and noone seemed to notice the makeshift skirt that i threw on it for the time being so i let it slide…
But i kept it on my list and recently found a pretty voile sheer drapery fabric with a tone on tone stripe (2″wide). It was 118″ wide and relatively inexpensive. So i bought three yards with the plan to make 2 drapery panels and the bedskirt.
i just put the new bedskirt on our Paris Boudoir Bed…..its so pretty and sexy.
We merely cut the fabric to the length we wanted (long enough to drag on the floor), added in a hem allowance (about 1/2″) and another 2″ at the top to sew a casing for elastic.
It was simple and cost effective. I love that it is dragging on the floor and that the gathering is so full and luxurious. And because it’s a voile it has body and a little shimmer!

it was such a beautiful day on Tuesday i felt i had to get outside…. I had Wednesday off so i started thinking about projects i could do outside and decided to paint my adirondack chairs….they are a mess - so i’m going to give them a new life. There is no question that they need some love…right now they are looking very sad in their very shabby paint – been out in the weather a bit too long.
Originally they were faux painted to sit beside a swimming pool surrounded by beautiful gardens in the back yard of a Showhouse that I worked on with a local landscaper…..that was ages ago! I had my mom paint them a light blue reminiscent of the water with faux rhododendrums and morning glories on the backs. They were so pretty. Just look at them now!
Well, i just happen to have some paint left over from Little Paris….I am going to scrape these chairs up a bit and then apply the paint. I am going to try to save the rhododendrums…we’ll see about that.
Voila! They are beautiful again!

took a quick shot of this new conversation chair that just came in to The Whistling Elk…
I’s nice clean lines make it transitional….and the fabric, a nubby linen blend, is a soft off-white
that will make this chair a star in many different settings. The frame is a distressed black with nailhead trim.
Gotta love that detail! It sits really nice and best of all the price is reasonable!
Two of these with a little table in between will improve the seating situation in any room!
Like this cute little table for instance…
It’s a distressed black but the center art is in gray tones. It’s a great size for the chair.
